    Work Across Party Lines

    • Roger will work with Democrats and Republicans alike to make government more accountable to the people it should represent

    Reform the Budget Process

    • Work with Governor Schwarzenegger to better control spending to ensure government can provide vital services
    • Support use of performance reviews to improve service and reduce inefficiency in government

    Strengthen the Economy

    • Reform the tax structure to encourage job creation.
    • Work with Governor Schwarzenegger to reform California's energy policies so our state has reliable and affordable power.
    • Reform the Unfair Competition Law to require that lawyers and plaintiffs represent the public interest, not pad their pocketbooks by shaking down legitimate businesses.

    Good Schools For Our Children

    • Give local school districts a greater say in how to run our schools.
    • Invest in good teachers
    • Empower parents to have a greater say in curriculum and discipline.
    • Reduce bureaucratic controls that tie the hands of school leaders and limit student achievement.
    • Empower school administrators to take the steps needed to improve their schools

    Oppose Higher Taxes

    • Supported repeal of the car tax hike
    • Support the tax savings provided under Proposition 13.

    Protect Us from Violence

    • Supported repeal of the law which allowed illegal immigrants, terrorists and even convicted felons to obtain California drivers licenses.
    • Will continue efforts to ensure police and fire fighters have the tools needed to protect us.
