Assemblyman Roger Niello has delivered a letter to the Air Resources Board (ARB) Chairwoman Mary Nichols requesting the Board hold off on a scheduled December 11th vote to adopt the ARB's AB 32 implementation Scoping Plan. In light of two recent reports from respected sources that are highly critical of the methodology used in the economic analysis of the plan and were not available at the time of last month's public hearings, Assemblyman Niello has requested that Board Chair Mary Nichols provide answers to the questions about the Scoping Plan that are raised in the reports and provide the public with additional time to review the reports before scheduled adoption of the Plan next week. more...

Sacramento Bee - Republican Assemblyman Roger Niello of Fair Oaks easily won a third two-year term. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Niello had 54 percent of the vote, compared to Democrat Dan Leahy's 38 percent. Karen Martinez of the Peace and Freedom Party had 6 percent. The 5th District traditionally has included some of the reddest areas of Sacramento County - including Fair Oaks, Folsom and Granite Bay. more...
